October, SENIOR CANTEEN
Our Halloween version of the canteen was fun! We introduced ourselves, remembered other Halloweens of the Past, took pictures, decorated cookies (thanks, Judith) and enjoyed some costume play - Thanks Milton and Bill, too. Our refugee elders were celebrating their Fall Holiday along with Eid and were not able to attend. Ten of us were present from LAH, but since we had displaced the Mt. Avenue Church bible study group, we invited them in for refreshments. Among them was Mauvie Stoddard, one of the survivors of our January 8th Shootings. She was saved by her husband, Dorwin, who gave his life for her. She is writing her love story for all to share.
LAH featured in the PCOA's publication, NEVER TOO LATE, Nov. Issue (Page 21)
