Magnetic signs on my vehicle have earned 3 requests to volunteer and one curiosity request for a brochure. I keep them on much of the time--took my mother to church last Saturday eve and Sunday had a call from someone who had seen the vehicle at church. She and her friend want to be volunteers with us. Another gentleman saw the car at Kinko's one eve and he told me right away he wanted to volunteer with us. This was a good investment in advertising---Junior League mini-grant for signs. Thank you, Alan Adler!
Seniors may have a field trip on their schedule for August. We had the AZ Historical Museum Quilt Show recommended to us and our audience seems to want to go. Volunteers needed; more seniors are welcome. Call Michele for more info and possibilities (520) 248-6882.
Congratulations to the refugee center near Grant and Columbus! Their campus has grown by two buildings and the classrooms are large and comfortable. Our allliance with the group has been positive and enjoyable. However, they are not just about fun, they need volunteers to help with English Classes, etc.
The Open house last Friday showcased people from many countries with many talents and lots of dreams. We have embraced them because some of these refugees are elders who came with the family group from harsh situations.
Greek Festival needs your help with the LAH parking lot (corner of Mountain and Ft. Lowell). Got some time to help us?
