We still keep you in the loop.
Sadly, I report on the death of dear, dear Edward Hobby. He was a fine gentleman who helped to get an upstart company financially on its feet so it could help patients battle cancer, then he used its services years later. Edward taught us much about quality of life and cancer treatments. He had plans to visit his son and daughter in the Northwest, but did not get there this summer. Thank you, Edward for teaching us so much about life.
Volunteers and senior neighbors are connecting to LAH weekly. Recently, I visited with a 102 year old lady and a 90 year old lady. They still live in their own homes. I have been contacted by many interested in volunteering with us and have trained 3 recently. Welcome All!
NEVER TOO LATE, June issue, from Pima Council on Aging, focused on the Lend A Hand organization. The article is entitled, "Lend A Hand Senior Assistance, Inc.--A Symphony for Senior Neighbors." It reviews our story and our current activities. Thank you for being a part of our "symphony!" (NB: The publication is only available to PCOA members.)
Attention, All Drivers!!! Keep a towel with you in your vehicle. Sometimes there are senior neighbors who have incontinence problems. You can save your upholstery with the towel or whatever else you deem appropriate. I also carry a can of Lysol spray for those who have colds or sniffles--along with hand sanitizer. All of these were very useful recently. Speaking of incontinence problems, LAH and the Diaper Bank have collaborated. We are interested in this free service to our senior neighbors; we are committed to helping the Bank fill up its warehouse with donations of all sizes of adult's and children's underwear. Maybe your other affiliations can direct their donations to the Bank in LAH's name. Cheryl Carter is the team leader on this project. She can be contacted at 520 204 22 26. Yes, our senior neighbors are aware of this project and have received a notice about it.
Very, very soon. Our reporting sheets to PCOA/NCA will change. We are planning to give instructions on how to fill out and give you copies of it for July 2015 reporting. PATIENCE! We can get through this change just as we do all others in our lives.
