Our mid-town Senior Canteen has opened at the recreation hall of the Mountain Avenue Church of Christ. About 15 of our seniors and volunteers gathered on March 15th from 1 to 3pm to socialize and get to know one another. St. Patrick's Day provided the theme for our first event. Cookies, brownies, iced tea and lemonade were enjoyed as we shared laughter and discovered many points of connection among attendees. Vi Conaty, Canteen Director and LAH volunteer, noted that the canteen will host events on the third Thursday of every month. The goals are to provide a welcoming social venue and to have fun.
