Market on the Move must have delivered to 70+ folks on Saturday.  What a swift, effective, nutritious way to serve our clients.  Alan, thanks for all the planning and sending us lots of outside vols to do this task.  We showed up at 6 and were done at 9!  Simple. You all can do the math:  8 teams, 10 dollars per team x 60 pounds of produce. Lend A Hand is truly sharing its wealth. Want to be on the list of volunteers? Once a month is not too big a chunk of time.   Call Alan Adler 909-5204

Food Bank Visit last week enabled me to see and discover:  cell phones available for free through government; eyeglasses are available there too, with eye check; food is of course available.  A good place for connection to other service.

Senior Canteen had 15 join in the fun of board games last Tuesday.  We had wonderful treats left over from the Board Meeting the day before. Join us next month  June 18th for social and fun.

BRAVO Adam McDaniel and Bill Crouse for moving, ever so slightly, a trailer on one of our senior's lots. This was not an usual LAH job.  It was a HUGE TASK.

Women's Plaza at the UA  will accept nominations for our Tucson Women to be acknowledged in the plaza.  I know my Mom deserves such honor having taught many years in TUSD and serving in WWII, etc.  I can think of several of our women, right away, who deserve that same recognition.  It means writing a nomination paper and raising 250 dollars from family and friends for engraving name and note for the permanent plaza marker. LAH is not to be the only promoter of this idea, but we can share with family and friends and plant the seed.
I have a pamphlet with further info thanks to a new volunteer, Megan.

I trained 4 new volunteers for LAH this morning.  They each bring special expertise and experiences to our corps. I am always amazed at our talent!

We have inroads into the U of A Women's Plaza, a dog owner whose dog earned visitation credentials at a nursing home,  Master Gardening and/or yardwork and light maintenance, a young couple who just wants to be of help with lots of background in many things.

I met with and trained 5 young women at Amparo who may serve as volunteers who do friendly visits and do housecleaning.

I interviewed one new client today.

Saturday, May 25 is the next Market oh The Move produce delivery to our clients--67 who are interested.  We have them broken down by neighborhoods with names and addresses for delivery.  If you can clear your Saturday from 7-10 or so, and have a car and like to make a visit with seniors, let Alan Adler know, 909-5204. We begin at Northminster Presbyterian on corner of Ft. Lowell and Tucson Blvd.

Tuesday, May 21 is Senior Canteen Board Games Fun.

1-3:30p.m. at the Mountain Avenue Church of Christ, Mountain and Adelaide.
Call for more info:  248-6882

Wednesday Writing Group is looking for new members who want to express themselves in writing--poetry? story? memoir? essay? fiction?
